Step 1
To create a Listing, click “List a Service” in the top-right menu to get started.
Step 2
To create a listing, you must first set up a seller profile. If you have not yet completed this step, you will be redirected to do so. For detailed guidance, refer to our full tutorial on Setting Up Your Seller Profile.
Once your profile is complete, you will automatically be taken to the Create Listing form. If you have already set up your seller profile, you will be directed straight to this page to start adding your listing.
Sellers can create multiple listings, provided each one offers a different service. However, spam listings are strictly prohibited and will be removed by the platform administrators.
Step 3
Start by selecting the category that best represents your listing, such as “Digital / CAD”
Step 4
Include relevant images in your listing, such as examples of your work, your workshop space, or any other visuals that showcase your skills and services effectively.
Step 5
Choose a clear and compelling title for your listing, as this will appear in search results and help attract potential customers.
Step 6 – Choose Your Pricing
Make It Hive offers flexible pricing options to suit your services. You have three ways to display your pricing:
1️⃣ Set Pricing – This allows you to set a fixed price for your service. Buyers can purchase directly through the Make It Hive platform with no additional steps.
2️⃣ Tiered Pricing – Create multiple pricing tiers (e.g., Gold, Silver, Bronze) for different levels of service. Each tier offers varying levels of features or benefits, giving buyers the option to choose the best fit for their needs and purchase directly.
3️⃣ Request a Quote (No Fixed Price) – Instead of displaying a price, you can leave it blank, allowing potential buyers to request a custom quote. If you choose this option, be sure to instruct buyers in your listing description to visit your seller profile (consider including a direct link) and select “Make Request” to receive a quote.
💡 Tip: If using the “Request a Quote” option, encourage buyers to message you on Make It Hive after submitting their request to keep communication open and ensure a smooth process.
Step 7 – Pricing Extras
Add optional chargeable services to your listing that buyers can select and purchase directly within Make It Hive. These extras allow you to offer additional features or upgrades, providing more value to your customers.
Note: Optional extras are only available for Set Pricing or Tiered Pricing listings.
Step 8
Insert your business location, you can optionally use the Auto location detect feature which will use your geo-location. This system will adjust the location to a random location near you to ensure your privacy is protected. Enter your business location manually, or use the Auto Location Detect feature for convenience. This system will adjust your location to a nearby random point to help protect your privacy.
Note: If you do not have a physical business premises and are operating from your home address, we recommend entering only your city and country as your location.
Step 9
Specify the number of revisions included with your service. This will be clearly displayed on your listing.
Step 10
Assign relevant tags to your listing by selecting from the pre-defined tag list. Only tags from this list will be displayed, ensuring your service is easily found by buyers using filters and search criteria.
Step 11
Specify any requirements buyers need to provide for you to complete the order, such as engineering drawings, 3D models, or other necessary files. These requirements will be displayed to the buyer upon purchase.
💡 Tip: Include a note about these requirements in your listing description to ensure buyers are aware before placing an order.
Step 12
Completing the Listing Description
Your listing description is one of the most important parts of your service listing. It provides potential buyers with a clear understanding of what you offer, setting the right expectations from the start.
When writing your description, make sure to:
✅ Be Clear & Concise – Explain exactly what your service includes in a way that is easy to understand. Avoid vague language.
✅ Highlight Key Features – Mention the unique aspects of your service, such as quality, turnaround time, or any special techniques you use.
✅ Include Requirements – If you need specific information or files (e.g., engineering drawings, 3D models), state this clearly so buyers are aware before purchasing.
✅ Use Formatting for Readability – Break your text into short paragraphs and use bullet points where possible to make it easy to skim.
✅ Direct Buyers to Your Profile (If Using ‘Request a Quote’) – If you have chosen the Request a Quote pricing option, make sure to instruct buyers to visit your seller profile (consider including a direct link) and select “Make Request” to receive a quote. This ensures a smooth process for custom or bespoke jobs.
💡 Tip: If your service has optional extras, mention them in the description to encourage buyers to consider add-ons.
A well-written description not only helps attract buyers but also reduces unnecessary inquiries, ensuring a smooth transaction process.
Step 13
Creating a Purchase Note
The purchase note is a short message displayed to buyers upon purchase. It helps confirm their order and sets expectations for the next steps.
Here are some examples you can use or customise:
✅ Thank you for your purchase! I’ll be in touch soon to discuss the details.
✅ Your order has been received! I’ll review the details and get back to you shortly.
✅ Thanks for your order! If you have any questions, feel free to message me.
✅ Order confirmed! I’ll begin working on it and will update you soon.
💡 Tip: Keep your message friendly and professional while reassuring the buyer about what happens next.
Step 14
Review and agree to the terms of service, verify that you are not a robot and submit your listing to the Hive!
Step 15
Once you submit your listing, it will be sent for review and approval. This process ensures that all listings meet platform guidelines and can take up to 24 hours to complete.
Once your listing is approved, it will be published on Make It Hive and visible within the platform’s listings.
It will also be indexed by search engines like Google, helping potential buyers find your services more easily.
